Lookin great Dan, your work is very impressive! I would hate to let that go to, but if it bails you out of your house problem quicker - go for it. Nothing like being a prisoner of your own house.

Bad angles, the garage is just packed with crap. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
After yesterday, I am really re-thinking letting this one go. It is just turning out so nice and these things are such a PITA to build. I duno, I'll just keep putting it together and see what happens. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Attached image(s) |

Duuuuuude, you have no idea how much fuching fuchs I have right now! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) I have been selling them off just to get some more space. Now that I have put these on the 914, I have one less set of 5. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

I put some lids and doors on last night. Using the SS bolts looks just awesome! Still a ton more to do, but sure is turning out pretty! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)

I hide nothing when I build these things. Rather, I tell it like I see it. Notice the little "bumped" area under the rear tailight. I didn't know about it until I removed the bumper after I got the car home. So it didn't affect the bumper mounting or even tailight sealing. I didn't touch it since when you put the bumper and tailight back in, you don't even know it's there. I still have to put the bumpers/trim and lights on. Then I can move to the inside. no center caps. you still stink!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) what did you get? new windows for the house? KSP'S SPEEDY DELIVERY will reserve your usual wed for transport to camp914. glad to note the proper 914world.com static cling, vinyl sticker, in the rear window. that has to make the car worth atleast an addtional $6.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Knock it off man! Next you'll be saying "What, no flares?" and I will be tearing back into the car again! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) I will have to work things out with Craig, but yeah, I would expect the crowd to see this 914 make it's way to CAMP pretty soon. I want to include two tops. one painted and one regular so a buyer can decide to keep the roll bar painted with painted top, or put vinyl on with regular top. I will also put the dashes in, re-do the gauge face, do up the door panels, re-seal the rear window ect. It will be a done car. I have floor mats for it, but no carpet, so I figure Craig might pop one of those in. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) |

Maybe? The car is certainly up for long drives. Remember, this is the car I picked up from Scott Kline in Southern CA. Michelle and I did 1300 miles in 16 hours. So the car is solid. I will put some miles on this engine before I start speaking too highly of it, but it sure sounds sweet. So I think it is still a driver. Front end all squared away! Yah! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/boldblue.gif) I still need to get the grills on, but notice I grabbed a set of Pilot driving lights from CAMP. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Wow! Those things rock! Nice kit Craig, bolts right up.

Also on this is the complete CAMP Euro front light kit with lenses as well as the rear trunk shock kit. Both are cool things to have on a 914. I also grabbed a new carpet kit from CAMP. It is a really nice grey loop pile which will look very nice with the grey paint and grey cloth seats. Pics are sort of dark, sorry. Oh, I still need to paint under the wheel wells. You can still see some green under there.

I have been using SS hardware in a lot of places when putting parts back on. Trunks, doors, latches, side sills ect. Funny part is I haven't even driven the car yet, but started it and let it heat cycle a couple of times in the driveway. Never smokes and fires right off. I have everything but the throttle linkage to the pedal cluster hooked up before I can drive it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)
So I am thinking I will leave the roll bar vinyl off and side mirrors off. That way they buyer can put those on if they want or whatever mirrors they want to. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) Attached image(s) |

Fiberglass repo of the special addition 914 air spoiler. F/R fiberglass bumpers as well. I know this is a 74', but I can litterally push the car around with one hand. I am very curious to wiegh the little guy. My goal, drive it this weekend, put some miles on it. The only things left I have to do is hook up the throttle (needs new cable, old one broke - my fault) and replace one more oil tube. One was leaking really bad, so I replaced it, another one is also leaking, so gotta replace that one too. While I had the engine out, it got new seals pretty much anywhere I could replace them, rear main, oil cooler, ect. I might actually send this down to CAMP (or sell it if he doesn't want it) with the interior not done. All the pieces will be there, just not installed. The rest of the car would be a done car. Interior Pieces would include: Recovered upper and lower dashes by Miiiiiiister Evil New carpet - Nice grey loop pile Door panels, complete in decent shape, early better 2 piece style VERY nice re-covered seats in a grey cloth. They go great with the paint. Backpad is in great shape. Factory center console installed with correct heater lever and hinged center seat. New gauge face for the 3 gauges, the thing that holds them place. So it would need: All those above pieces installed New door window squeegies - $15 a pair Rear window re-sealed - Easy, especially with all the int not together. Rear window outside seal - one above the engine lid $40 I think? 911 tach - Unless I get one before hand. I haven't been looking. If Craig wants it, I am sure either he will work out having me do the above for him or he might just do it himself. Either way, the car has to go. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) I am going to take and pay off the last of the bad house deal and give the rest to my parents. Aren't I just a saint? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) My Dad was diagnossed with Terminal Cancer, crap, I can't even remember how to spell it: Gastro Carcinoma? Spelling? Anyway, his treatment is costing my parents bucko bucks. So my brothers and I have been helping out were we can. Doc says he has months, we are hoping to stretch old dad for a few years. He has some grand kids we all want him to be around for as long as we can. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) So, you can see why I started busting my ass on this after letting it sit for a month. I have a goal. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Two goals actually! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |
