Cool! Still one of my favorite 914, L20E rocks!

I worked things out with Criag at CAMP. Just got to get my six down to him. Kevin, oh Kevin, you out there? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

Dan

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Times like this make you appreciate family and kind of underscores what is important. You will always miss him but, the memories get sweeter with time. Loosing your father really drives home how important it is to make memories with your kids. See you in Canada.

Dan,

Sorry to hear about your Dad!

I'm at a loss for words.

Just remember that his memories and well wishes will always be with you and your family.

Best of luck.

Thanks Dave and Eddie for the thoughts. And yes Dave, you will see Michelle and I at Whistler, we will be taking her 944 since the 914 is being delivered to CAMP today.

I don't want this to turn into a thread about my dad, and I really do appreciate all the kind words and even PM's I have recieved. It is why I am selling this six. Otherwise, I would have kept this one. It's sort of a story:

Just a couple of months ago, my father was just finishing up a 3 car garage and had just dug into other home projects as well that required permits, inspections and of course, money. He walked into the hospital to have a tumor removed from his stomach on July 20th. They didn't remove the tumor and told him he had a couple of months at best(Cancer). This was of course a complete shock. They tried a few things, but he lost strength so quickly Chemo was not an option after only a few days. We took him home on August 9th when Doctors said he was down to weeks now instead of months and he passed away on August 14th. I was with my Dad 24x7 from the 9th until he passed away. Yeah, it was hard, really hard. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

Which leaves all these projects he didn't hardly even get a chance to explain to me what was left still on the table. With time limits no less because of the permits and such. So money from this will go to finish up those projects in a timely manner for Mom. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Dan,

I feel for you buddy! Fathers can't be replaced.

We are lucky ... at least we can look forward to being great fathers (and great friends) to our children.

Go give your kid a great big hug!

Let us know if we can help out your family in any way. A 914club work day at the Root house would be a great tribute!

Dan, I am sorry to hear about your loss, as you know, I lost my father on the 9th so I know what you are going through. Excellent job on the car, I hope it brings you enough to finish your fathers projects. Stay by your mom and help her all you can, if my mom was still around, that is what I would do. They never stay long enough. I will miss both of my parents for the rest of my life as I am sure you will miss yours. If I were closer, I would come help you but instead, I will just have to give you support from here.

There is something you can do, find the cure for Cancer. I have faith in you and I know you will be the one to do it. Make us proud Mikey.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Gotta love this place. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

I wanted to extend a special thanks to Craig at CAMP914 and Kevin(rodyguy) for driving my six down to Craig yesterday. Craig is a very honest upstanding guy. I worked a deal with him that should give me enough $$$ to finish up most of what Dad left behind and even keep in a 914! Thanks Craig! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/boldblue.gif) The Marathon Blue one is now mine.

Only question is, can I get it before the big Whislter trip tomorrow morning or will Michelle and I be sporting her 944? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

To the local's who offered help, thanks guys, but no worries now. If I need help, I will post a seperate thread.

So this is another done Root six! Sweet!

My new 914 will be this one.

Again, I can't say enough how much I appreciate Craig working a deal with me on this. He kept me in a 914 and took my six still with a few little things to be sorted out. He knows I just don't have the time right now for that sort of project.

Someone will wind up with a very fun car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
