Just got back from the club race at Watkins Glen. In all we had a great weekend, but lady luck tried her hardest to stop us. On friday practice the car ran flawlessly! lap times continued to drop, and our place in grid rose higher. By fridays end, the car was turning consitent 2:02's FWIW 2:02 placed us 17th on the grid, poll was 1:56, 10th-20th grid positions were seperated by about a second (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

On saturdays practice, lady luck threw a monkey wrench in the business. The seal for the left side chain tensioner let loose, allowing a nice stream of oil to bathe the red hot turbocharger (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

the results

We borrowed a turn signal lens from someone whose race weekend was worse than ours

Repaired the chain tensioner, had to helicoil the studs, one had pulled , hence the oil incident. Spray painted over some charred glass, and the scruts gave the car an OK.

Since we missed qualifying we gridded last, which is not an obstacle to us anymore (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

Bill jumped 6 cars on the start, In all Started 38th, finished 15th, in a 12 lap race. best lap of 2:00 flat

The head Flagger came over to us after the race and mentioned that all the flag stations, were voting to give us the "Hard Charger" award

Unfortunatley we left before the awards dinner

Maybe one of you who knows more can tell me how to save the videos better?

I use a MiniDV camera and replay looks life like when i play it on TV.. but when I render it with Ulead or Movie Maker I lose alot of resolution..which streaming file format is best etc..

inquiring minds want to know
