Build date also 10/73, 74 MY, pretty sure its the original plate 262 KMQ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

^ Interesting that your "KMQ" blue plate corresponds to the black plate list above for the San Diego DMV. Was your car sold new in San Diego?

Wonder if they ran XXX 111 for black plates and 111 XXX for blue plates, using the very same letters for a given DMV office?

Purchased at Sierra Porsche in Riverside, but original owner lived in San Diego. Thought it was pretty neat that detail lined up also. I'd imagine the plates were issued through a San Diego DMV branch.
