first, i retouched those annoying powerlines out of that spectacular scene it's in. no charge, but i don't know if it's going to upload (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
2. it's a thing of beauty, i couldn't see parting with it. it actully looks like a great car for barrett jackson. i mean if your going to sell, why not have a little fun with it, and you might get the compensation (if they pick you car, and you get a sunday slot...) it looks like it deserves. 3. i really can't see selling unless all's lost. good vibes~ Attached image(s) |

So far the vote is drive it or store. I would like to keep it.
If $15k really is tops for a car like mine I don't think I could go through with selling it. Either gotta get more $$$ for it or figure out a way to keep it AND find more time to drive and enjoy it. The truth is I have gotten heavy into motorcycles and simply quit driving the Porsches. The Boxster was easy to let go, this is another story. It's only costing me insurance and routine maint. so that is no big deal. No clear decision here. |

If that silver 3.6 six car could barely bring $35k then what would this car bring, hmmm. Maybe Craig will offer a opinion here. Tops I have heard was the $15k for a 4.
I would buy a six for $15k not a 4 unless it was a LE car. |

I could see myself payin as much as $12k for a nice 914/4 like that. I could see you getting $15k, but that's about as good as it's gonna get.
Keep it. Drive it once in a while if that's all you have time for. But the only way you'll get your investment back out of it is in smiles per mile. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) |

That car looks great. To really make an assessment for those of us who don't know the car, we would need more detailed photos. I have a similar car but more track prepped with steel flares, cage and Raby 2270. I feel like mine is worth somewhere around 15K. Professional labor really runs up the bill. I have about 25-30K in mine but with tons of my labor. If you're not in a hurry, someone will make a fair offer eventually.

I could see it going up to $20K for someone that wanted a done car with a $9K Raby engine. It would go for around $12k if it had a stock 2L engine.

DON"T SELL!! There are some of us who would kill (figuratively, of course) for a car half that nice!!!! You will never get close to what you've got invested, so just hang on to it. If you ask nice, I'll bet there are a few folks who would be happy to drive it around for you. Ya know, keep the seals from cracking and such. Brian You have a really beautiful car. If I were you I would get it detailed to the max and take it to Barrett Jackson 2006. If the red custom 914 can sell for $14000?? Then you car should sell for $18000-20000.
Old Car Price Guide gives a #1 74 914 a $24000 value. Sorry you do not have a #1 car, that is a garage queen , trailered to shows, never driven, in a thermostatically controlled garage. You are in the #2 catagory. OCPG gives it a $16800 value. You car has modifications that help to enhance the value, not pull the value down. You are between a #1 and 2 so it should sell for @$20000.
