I took today off and ran over to Sonoma Raceway (It'll always be Sears Point to me...)
Some pics and vids you might enjoy. Don't miss the Repsol 962 chasing those CanAm cars!

I can't dispute that... And not to turn this into a debate but, IMO, it would have been cool to keep a V8 engine class. There was so much innovation and it was a class far more people could get into. Once the factories (Porsche in particular) got involved, the "little guys" didn't stand a chance.
I have a buddy who built his own CanAm car and raced it. He likely would never have won, but again, he was on the grid.
The price of progress, I suppose.
