Yep, welder needed.....

Still what you "could" have spent on a car you can put into sheetmetal. Other than the missing 1/2 of the long, the car looks ok.

It's a good thing you already know how to weld! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) the longs look shot on both sides. you have a lot of work ahead of you. Try to make as many of the replacement panels as you can or it's going to get expensive. I think I have spent at least $450 on metal alone, and all of the panels I have bought were ebay deals. You may also consider buying used parts next time someone has a sawsall party on the west coast. Good luck!

Helluva good start! By the time you get 2 or 3K in it, you should have a nice car.

BTW, I want those nerf bars!!! Talk about a collecters item!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Nice job, Rocco,
You'll see I've got nearly the same damage on my car. The wheels look like a good grab! I'm not sure if they are Pedrinni's or Mehles. Maybe a member can confirm? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Welcome to the club.

Sounds like you got a helluva deal. Even if the thing is rusted in half and the center dragged on the ground, you have an INCREDIBLE deal. If the body is completely shot, you have a collection of parts that are worth their weight in gold. And can easily be used to transfer to a good tub.

Welcome to the club. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

You got a great deal, especially since the car is riding on Pedrinis (they are sorta rare). Now you just need a parts car (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Good luck, and take lots of pictures. People Around here are really big into the show and tell thing.

This club is much friendlier than many others. Take advantage of the excellent prices people give you, most just like to give others all the help they can in their projects

From "How to restore your Porsche 914 & 914/6" Patrick c. Paternie Pg. 115

"Pedrini alloys were optional for 914 owners who wanted sporty looks to match their active lifestyles"

That's a caption under a picture of a guy loading a 1/4 keg of Spaten Brau into his front trunk!

Don't toss it. Either put it in a plastic bag & store it, or sell it for bucks to a CW doing a resto. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
