Hi guys, haven't posted for a while, but have a question that I hope is an easy fix. My car (74) has recently been semi restored. Now when I drive it the engine lid will pop up after hitting a bump or even less like cornering. How do you adjust it to stay closed until I pull the release?
Thanks, Rick |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Yup. Mine started that at Oscar's event last year. About the 5th time it popped up that week I looked at it and found the adjustment Andy mentioned. Baby steps, won't take but an 1/8" to reset it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

And the L-shaped brackets on the firewall like to crack and the bottom of the L starts to droop. That results in a lid that doesn't fit well and will pop open going over bumps. Inspect those next time you open the engine lid.

Thanks guys. I lowered the pin on the lid and will drive around tomorrow to see if it worked.
