IMO, it's easy to find out what your car is worth.
Put it on the bay. Set a high reserve and let'er rip.

Based on MY opinion....8-10K. Of course you WILL be beat on and abused by tire kickers and maroons......

20K is a decent investment. I had over 39K (and stopped counting) in a 914/6 and had gnarly extra parts, fixes from hell, and was honest about how I beat the crap out of it ,broke it and made it better...Bradholio even made a comment...you ain't gonna sell it 'cause you documented yer fuck ups.....

Who cares....I had fun.........got 12K for it....I threw every bad boy part from hell at it. I learned a lot. The buyer got a hell of a deal......unless you are a savvy buyer you won't get what ya put into it....but you will have a ball buster of a time....

YMMV

Considering getting out of 914s, or are you just planning on starting over again with another basket case? Bored with this one now that it's "done"?

$8-10K sounds like the right ballpark. Even then, you'd have to find the right buyer. Custom cars are always harder to sell for "full" price.

Why are you selling?

Or, if you want to play the word game, why are you not selling (yet)?

Sir Andy,
You may have been the first person that ever replied to me on this club...And I'm glad for that. But I gotta tell ya..With all due respect..That front air dam stuck on the front of your car looks like...something stuck on the front of your car. It looks like a peice of plastic stuck on the front of your car.
I know, It's a 916 thing. It looks like a snow plow. A cattle catcher on a steam engine. A butterfly, disected and sprayed with resin. It looks cheap. We all know it's not a real 916, so why play 916?
The fenders are cool, the interior is cool. The wing on the back looks cool.
But that thing on the front...And body colored? I really don't know, It's over the top.
Everytime I see it. I'm like "look at that thing stuck on the front of that car."
It's like "pimp my 914"
It sticks out in all different directions. There's no "line" to it.
It makes me wonder..."was the car hit?" What did you do to the bumper? Is there anyway to make the car look "redder"?
It reminds me of a GM car between '78 and '84. Nobody's sure how to do this 5 MPH thing so just make it out of plastic and....
Clean up the front end and I'll give you ...
$50?-$60???
I really don't know

Yeah I agree...my first ride had the 916 front and rear f/g pieces....I sold them and went with a more traditional treatment.

well...if you said the $50k pro resto with raby motor car was not worth $15k, I would say your car is probably worth $7-8k.

Andy, just want to compliment you on your car. Really looks nice. $9-11K I'll up the anti for yah (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/tongue.gif). I might of missed it, but how many miles do you have on your motor/car since the resto? First time I seen the a rear spoiler used with out the end caps. Nice touch.

not sure exactly (didn't keep track) ...

since the car is back on the street i'd say 2k miles max. on the car.
the engine has even less (used to drive it with my old 1.8L for quite a while), i'd say less than 1000 miles on the engine ...

Wow, this thread is getting stupid. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) $50-$60 for his car? Why would you even say that? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)

It's an $8k car, no problem. I could see it getting to $10k with the right buyer. Lots of upgrades, looks great and runs great. What more could you ask for?

Wasn't the car voted best of class (can't remember which class) at WCC 04? Certainly ought to be in the 8-10 range.
