Hi, does anyone have a clear picture of where the engine number for a 74' 2.0L would be. I am having a tough time trying to view it. Thanks-

Is this the same location on all 4-cyl. 914 engines or does it vary from year to year and engine size?

Should be the same for all 1.8s.
Evidently some 1.7s have the number further down somewhere, but I haven't seen one. (Haven't looked for engine numbers on many 1.7s, though!) Note that VW applications may have the numbers in other locations; many have them in the 2.0 914 location even when the engine isn't a 2.0 one. And I think I have read that 912E engine numbers are actually on the fan shroud??? --DD |

All VW411/412 engines have the numbers in the 2.0 914 location.
