Hi all,
I’ve been a 914 enthusiast since they were first introduced in 1970 and have over the years owned 7, with three of them being original 914-6’s.
I have decided that I am going to sell the 914-6 that I currently own and have owned for 31 years and 8 months.
Parting with the car is probably tougher on me than cutting off my right arm.

I could use a little help in determining its value and potential market.
Many of you on the west coast have seen the car at events over the years and hopefully will have an opinion.

To start: it’s an original “6” vin #9140431952

Here are the details:
1995 993 3.6 carrera engine. Stock factory build. With chip. 25-30 MPG
Billy Boat stainless headers with heat
Dansk polished stainless steel muffler w/dual exhaust
Hidden front BAT oil coolers (3) with thermostat control and fan. Runs cool even on the hottest desert day.
All oil and fuel lines plumbed with aeroquip lines and fittings.
Carrera starter
Carrera 915 transmission with Vellios side shift conversion. Built by George Vellios himself.
8:31 ring and pinion with 29:21 5th gear for freeway flying.
Wevo semi sold trans mounts and wevo shift couplings
Short shift kit on 915 shifter
Carrera complete front suspension with rack and anti sway bar and big brakes w/slotted rotors.
Limited edition 914 rear anti sway bar
180 lb rear springs with Koni shocks
Recently overhauled 914-6 rear brakes and fresh rotors. Stainless lines
19mm master cylinder
7 and 8 inch x15 factory Fuchs crome plated by Robert Woods
215/55s on the front, 225/50s on the rear.
Koenig 914 seats (extremely rare)
Deist seat belt harnes both sides
New European carpet, headliner, trunk, mats, door panels, dash top etc.
Carrera gages, electronic speedometer
Rennline dead post
Momo steering wheel
Blaupunkt CD with aux input and 100 watt amp and custom speakers (sounds great!)
European lenses front and rear with split dual bulb European turn signal lighting in front
High intensity head lights with electrical relay twin bulb total 155 watts per side
New tinted windshield and trim recently installed
Door glass and window mechanism updated to later model tinted windows and fuzzy window track for quiet wind noise free ride
Tinted thicker rear window and quiet insulation behind interior seat panels
New rubber seals all around
Twin outside mirrors

I probably forgot a few things, but if you can think of it, it’s probably got it.
Recent service, runs great (understatement)
Drives fantastic.

In summary. Probably one of the nicest 914-6’s around.
Great body, no rust.
Recipes for everything!
I can supply a bunch of photos.

Whats it worth?

UPDATE: February 22, 2019. The car is available for sale.
Asking price $75,000 OBO
JIM 760.333.4221

The car is SOLD.
Thanks everyone!

Good morning. Very nice looking Porsche 914. I have sold five in this configuration. 914-6 stock all original or with the big motor and various modifications.
I think your best audience will be Ebay or bring a trailer.
The 914s that I sold were anywhere from $20-45,000..
An exetremly nice 6 3.2 conversion zero modifications for $25,000. This car I sold three different times at @$25,000, each time sold. Then a narrow body 4 cylinder conversion to a six, very similar to your car, $35,000. And then another highly modified 6 conversion as old for $45,000.
These did not sell on eBay or bat, but were sales through advertising on CL or 914 world. Or people that I had on my list of potential buyers.
If the car was a bone stock 914-6 I personally feel you would have a larger buyer base. The modifications, no matter how well done, are a personal thing to most buyers.
Good luck with the sale.

That’s why I suggested eBay or bat. You need buyers who are willing to spend real money.
Real 6 chassis roller in great condition - $40k
3.6 Engine and 915 side shift trans - $30k
Everything else - $10k
You just have to market it to guys who are used to spending $100-200k on their cars.
We could easily find a 911 owner who would want to add this car to their collection for $80k.

I would make some cosmetic adjustments - paint rockers, valances and top satin black, add targa vinyl and finish wheels to an RS finish so it looks like a traditional six. I’m not criticizing the look now, it’s just what I would do to get it sold.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) 100% ,the cosmetic work needs to be done ,wheels will put people off due to the chrome process with these wheels, however a very nice car and should make big $$$$$$,would think it is rather fast also (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) .
