I ‘m 67. Got my first 1970 Porsche 914 around 4 years ago when I traded my Mercedes Benz SLK320 for it to my 19 year old stepson. The 914 was a real barn find. It was parked in a barn on a ranch in Elk Grove, California, in 1988. He got it in 2014. We had to replace the entire brake system and the fuel tank, but the injectors and fuel pump still worked and it started right up with a new battery! Even though it’s only a 1.7, the engine loves to rev since it has relatively little smog equipment and it’s an entertaining car to drive.

QUOTE(bdstone914 @ Apr 19 2019, 06:17 AM) *

I am 70.
Wonder if @sirandy can export the birthdates of all members and calculate the true average of umpteen thousand 914 owners. I am guess about 65.

I do know of a 100 year old lady that still owns the 914 she bought new in 1970.
Top that. And she drove it until she was 96.

Her Subaru conversion is behind schedule.... She'll be on the road in October....

We bought the first one , a 1971, in 1973. I bought the 914-6 in August, 1981. I’m 65. There has been a 914 in our lives continuously since 1973.

Got my first 914 in 1988, current car is my 3rd and I've had it 20 years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Celebrated my 50th this year.
First daughter off to college in a few weeks... I guess I will never get that paint job (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)... But at least I enjoy my car everyday! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

68, many 914s continuously since 1977.
Six 6s along the way, two real ones currently and a nice conversion GT too.

Will be Medicare eligible in 5 months - sounds outrageously old to me (65 for you young gutter snipes). I recall when my mom started Medicare and she seemed ancient to me 35 years ago, and she is still living alone.

My good friend and air cooled mechanic, Bernie B (owner of a real GT) is 65 and is not allowed to retire. Ever. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Seeing the recent 914 event photos seems like the collective 'we' average is in the 50's-60's.

Where are the youngins?

I just got a Medicare card. But my son drives the 914. He doesn’t like the look that much though. I do.

57 3 different v8 engines in a 914. One v6 engine in a 914 and currently working on a turbo 2.4 in my 914. Oddly I have never driven a stock 914 and have owned one since 1988 LOL (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
