took apart my Church's lawn tractor engine to repair. Ever hear of a compression release camshaft? Nifty idea in theory, sucks in real world.
Search 'Briggs & Stratton camshaft'.

My Kubota L225 has that on a 3 cylinder diesel.

I'm hoping it is designed a LOT better than the B&S. From what I read, it is 'when' it will fail, not 'if'....

Tractor mentality, they made it simple. If you read explosion the two pronged forks that bolt to the decompression shaft just pushed down on the valve spring retainer taking the pressure off the valve seat. Of course I could not find a picture of the fork in the parts manual, but the basic part numbers of the rest of the system are marked in red on the image. Really simple system just a pull cable out of the dash

And, we spotted Enrique ( @RiqueMar ) with his 914-6 (914Seis) and had to stop and admire that beauty. The car is very well done and he drives it like he means it. Great talking with him about our cars. In case you were wondering, I am the old dude on the right.

I'm very late (locked out of my account, didn't put the effort in until recently) and so happy to see this. Fun times, great seeing you @Cairo94507 !

No worries my friend. Hope to see you next year; we are planning to take my car and Greg T. says he will take his willow green car too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Cool truck Oscar. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif) Very very nicely done.

Inspiring. Hopefully/maybe inspiration for me to get going with my truck project.

That is really cool Oscar. I really dig the way they did the rear fenders, like a Doozy boat tail.

Had plans to work on the 914 today, but I came across some car audio gear from my first car - a 1976 Capri 2.8. Not sure why I kept the gear when I sold the car about 35 years ago, but I did. A while back I had an idea to take it and make a garage stereo. It's a Sanyo amplifier and passive equalizer. Somewhere along the way I lost a smaller amplifier that ran the front speakers, so I guess no quadraphonic. Had a power supply and a Iphone to RCA cable and found some old computer speakers. Sounds pretty good. Just need to get some brackets, screws, velcro etc to mount everything, after I clean everything up. Had to laugh when my wife saw it and asked if it was going in the 914.
