A company in Italy called Tuscany Leather has all sorts of stuff. I bought a briefcase and a carry-on luggage from them and am happy.

OMG !!! flares on the rear of a 356B what a horrible look (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) .
I would be keen to do the same but want to build a custom rack from stainless tube that involves no drilling to fit, just a bit unsure how the rear vision will be?. If you fit a vintage trunk like this I guess you would need to find one that is reasonably waterproof surely ?. |

Ah . . . to live in Kalifornia.
Try to pull this off where I live and you'd arrive with all your stuff soaking wet. I'd need a waterproof Dry River bag like those used for rafting. Been raining here at least once everyday for the past week (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) |

These look cool, a pair of the carry on hard bags would look awesome.
https://saddlebackleather.com/leather-luggage-hard In the q&a they do mention doing custom work, but might give you a lead... These guys look expensive, but they’re somewhat local... http://www.glaserdesigns.com/2014/05/13/fi...rari-mondial-4/ |

How about finding a trunk and having an upholsterer cut it down and wrap in leather... you’ll have all the hardware.

How nice? I was going to make some with my leftover vinyl by wrapping some appropriately fitting hard luggage I would find.
If you find some luggage I'm sure you can find an upholstery shop to wrap it for decent. If not come to my area and I can find a few for you. |

You can find all the hardware and fittings at Ohio Travel Bag. They're a little cheap looking for a 300SL but, should be fine on a 914. You'll have to bone up on your woodworking skills, leather stretching and polish up your brass tack hammer. You know sweat equity.....

But you are right, that would require to climb the steep hill of skill improvement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |
