I need a custom made leather traveling trunk for the 914.

Like on this 356 below but i need very specific dimensions:
48 x 24 x 6

Anyone know of anyone who can make such a thing?

Do you already have the chrome trunk rack for it?

A company in Italy called Tuscany Leather has all sorts of stuff. I bought a briefcase and a carry-on luggage from them and am happy.

OMG !!! flares on the rear of a 356B what a horrible look .
I would be keen to do the same but want to build a custom rack from stainless tube that involves no drilling to fit,just a bit unsure how the rear vision will be?.
If you fit a vintage trunk like this I guess you would need to find one that is reasonably waterproof surely ?.

Somehow i get the feeling this guy might be out of my price range ...

Try to pull this off where I live and you'd arrive with all your stuff soaking wet. I'd need a waterproof Dry River bag like those used for rafting. Been raining here at least once everyday for the past week

How about finding a trunk and having an upholsterer cut it down and wrap in leather... you’ll have all the hardware.

How nice? I was going to make some with my leftover vinyl by wrapping some appropriately fitting hard luggage I would find.

If you find some luggage I'm sure you can find an upholstery shop to wrap it for decent. If not come to my area and I can find a few for you.

You can find all the hardware and fittings at Ohio Travel Bag. They're a little cheap looking for a 300SL but, should be fine on a 914. You'll have to bone up on your woodworking skills, leather stretching and polish up your brass tack hammer. You know sweat equity.....

Damn, they have everything to make me one of those. But you are right, that would require to climb the steep hill of skill improvement.

The size is very long so I think what you would need is a Smooth Brown Hardboard Wall Panel material and then have it made into a case. You can buy hinges and latches and leather handle. This would be somewhat like an oversize briefcase. Radius corners are harder to do but could be done. It could be upholstered in any material. Leather would be nice but not as waterproof as fake leather. Not ready for tomorrow but if you want , it can be built by a woodwork shop if you do not have a friend up there to help. If down in Inglewood I can help you with it. This would be like an Instrument case. Have you Cked guitar case size

Not sure about a leather exterior but if not, they do all sorts of custom colors but I bet they can do leather.

Odd size Andy. I read your dimensions and turned my head and saw this. Maybe a reworked or custom guitar or bass case. A little closer to your size. This is for a Gibson Firebird guitar, Thunderbird bass case is a little bigger.
