Happy Fathers Day to each of you/ and yours ! This guy next to the DKW is my late Pops. His good spirit + soul are still my guiding light today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Dear Maltese Falcon, Thanks for sharing such a great picture of your dear father. He looks like a great Pop! It is so sad when our father's have passed and such a tribute to be able to remember them, especially on Father's Day. I too, would like to share a few precious photos I have of my father. I hope it is ok to post 4 as they are very special to me. I am SO proud that my dad was a Purple Heart Marine (lost his left arm at the age of 18) as you can see in his military uniform picture. But that never stopped him from doing everything he wanted to do. He was a wonderful father to 4 children. He always supported me and encouraged me to excel in whatever I did and to achieve my goals. I was so proud of my dad..... The next photo shows me on his shoulders at the beach,......Yes, I was "daddy's little girl"! He was "the wind beneath my wings" even though he was missing one himself! He was very patriotic and helped other veterans and their families his entire life. I loved giving him a "slow" lap of appreciation in my 914-6 at a San Diego Region Porsche Club autocross the year before he passed. He was beaming and they were talking about him over the loud speakers during that special lap. I had tears in my eyes when we were completing the slow parade lap and everyone had come towards the car clapping their hands, giving the thumbs up in support and thanking him for his service. Dad was so touched......yes, another wonderful day to remember with my dad...... Thank you so much Dad for being such a wonderful Father..... I miss you and love you very much. Happy Father's Day! Your Loving Daughter, Margie |
