So I picked up this 71 from a local member, who just wanted the 1.7L block and tailshifter for his racing pastime. Currently looks like a burnt chicken nugget but is the special order Gold Metallic underneath. Interior is missing, all rubber & plastic is sun destroyed, but the chassis is solid.
Currently debating if I should buy the original 1.7FI eng/trans while I still can and spend beaucoup time and money on a full resto (needs a new everything), or use up some of my parts stash (2.oFI & side shifter, 2 seat interior & 6x15 cookies) and build a car I’d want to drive a few years before needing to sell it off in 5 to 10 to fund retirement. Your best return would be to sell it to someone that is looking for a good 914 shell. Get the one that you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) almost drove to WCR running. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
