SOLD 8/10/19 - thanks to all for interest!
Price drop to $9,500 - cutting $10,000 off the ask due to lack of interest and PPI issues. Price is for car only - no longer includes spare parts, no longer includes cover which will be sold separately. At this price, you are getting an imperfectly restored car with 400 hours of welding work completed, 400 hours of bodywork, paint prep, and new paint, all interior parts, Fuchs rims, powdercoated suspension, and all hardware rebuilt, completely assembled and ready to drive. Or, part it and profit. PPI findings copied and pasted below. PPI was performed by A&P Specialties in Portland. Can't link to the online document as a potential buyer's info is included: Body and Frame Technician Notes Car has been hit on passenger side at one time, passenger door is a little off. This may need a body shop to further inspection. I don't see any issue with the frame at all. Various small dings in pictures below. Miscellaneous Items Technician Notes Oil leaks!, Engine case bolt on driver's side seeping oil!, Oil sump plate minor seepage, Silicon sealer was used on most gaskets even push rod tubes!! They aren't leaking at this time. Drivers valve cover has very minor seepage may need to be re bent. Inspect Front Brakes Technician Notes Some minor wheel damage. Front pads approximately 70% material, brake fluid looks clean, however reservoir cap may be leaking. There is fluid in the cupped are of the reservoir.. Inspect Rear Brakes Technician Notes Rear pads approximately 95%, emergency brake cables to control arms needs circlip, one is missing, and the other is just missinstalled, easy to fix. Inspect Exterior Lighting Technician Notes Left rear liscense plate light is out! Inspect Interior Lighting Technician Notes Main dome light is inop, footwell lights have been installed, aftermarket. (OWNER'S NOTE: cabin light - aftermarked - is NOT inop, it is wired to only come on with ignition.) Perform Battery Test Technician Notes Battery tests ok, positive cable from starter is getting old, no corrosion at this time! Inspect Exhaust System Technician Notes Has fairly new heat exchangers, rear muffler sounds just fine, however has some minor rust repaired holes. Seems ok.. Technician Notes Interior dashboard, drivers door pocket, pop top trim I'll have some cracking. Seats and seat belts Technician Notes Seats have some damage, Miscellaneous Items Technician Notes Found initial co% was set high, reset for now pictures below of 4 gas test before and after adjustment. The engine has a slight jerk at steady speeds the fuel injection and the ignition system will need at least 2 hours of labor to check the problem, ( this is not uncommom for a 914 but can be repaired ) Miscellaneous Items Technician Notes Transmission rear mount points on housing itself have apparently been re-welded for some reason either the transmission was out of a car that was potentially rear-ended or there's some clearance issue!, Pic. 1st gear grinds at slow speed down shifts the syncro and or the 1 st reverse slider may be worn. compression and leakdown test Technician Notes Compression and leak down test is fair, number one cylinder was verified at 116 PSI the test was performed twice. Compressions/leakdown numbers: 1 116 12% 2 132 10% 3 127 10% 4 135 10% Inspect Alignment Technician Notes Our inspection shows your vehicle's alignment is in normal condition at this time. Inspect Front Suspension Technician Notes Looks like all front suspension wearable components have been replaced and struts are powder coated, new front sway bar, Job well done! Inspect Rear Suspension Technician Notes Has new shocks!, Powder coated control arms, axle boots are in great shape! TIRES-FRONT Technician Notes Front tires approximately 80% treadwear TIRES-REAR Technician Notes Rear tires approximately 85% tread wear Alternator Technician Notes 13.4 volts and 45 amps, is ok Inspect Drive Belts Technician Notes Great shape! WINDSHEILD WIPERS (FRONT/REAR) Technician Notes Wipers work, blades are getting old. Dashboard Indicator Lights Technician Notes All good! HEATER Technician Notes Works great, heater boxes are ok! Just listed my 75 2056 on CL. I want to thank everyone on this forum for the help and support over the years. This restoration took me 6 years to complete, finished in 2016. I've got too many cars and too many kids and I don't have time to drive or maintain this one any more. https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/d/p...6937155236.html The car has about 1000 miles since the completion of the restoration and isn't even broken in yet. I'm happy to answer any questions. This is a really hard one to part with, but it's time. Youtube walk around at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLYTjKeC8r4...eature=youtu.be |

Oh my I love my Copper metallic and this is super nice!! I I had not just bought the Maserati we would be having a serious discussion. Super job on yours and good luck, and I hope someone on west coast buys it as I’d hate to have to compete against it over here - just kidding, kind of,
You are NOT asking enough for it with a 2056. This should be listed at $40k minimum- been offered that for mine and turned it down, Haggerty insurance said I should not insured for less that $50k to cover replacement. You need to double price - Phil |

You are possibly right. I'm motivated to sell. I'm also super appreciative of this forum and would never have even gotten started on the project without 914world help.
The offered price remains $19.5... for now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Someone had a question about the electrics.
If anyone else has questions about parts/process/specifics I am happy to find receipts, send pics from the restoration, send current pics/videos. "Soft" entry lighting in the footwell: LED backlit gauges, dimmable. Parking lights/headlights/high beams work. Emergency blinkers work. Cig lighter works. Wipers work. Wiper washer converted to electric - works. Cabin light works. Turn signal - new switch - works. Horn works - I relocated it under the dash cause I was tired of accidentally hitting the butterfly button. Easy to switch back. All gauge lights work. Clock works. Voltmeter works. New VDO temp gauge and sender; aluminum billet taco plate; no leaks at all. Backup lights work. Stereo is absolutely killer. I totally overhauled it after the resto as I wasn't satisfied. Alpine head, alpine main amp, Kenwood sub amp, footwell (invisible) sub. Designed to be HEARD at speed with the top down. Rear hot air blower works. However I disabled it as it was noisy and did not improve cabin airflow. Heat is great even without blower. You can totally drive this thing in the winter. I built it to be a terrific grand tourer. Fogs don't work. Haven't troubleshooted as I don't use them. I’ll be looking at them when I have a chance as I want this car to be totally trouble free for the buyer. Defrost light in the console isn't hooked up. Rear trunk light is there but needs replaced. |

Engman LED fuse panel. Never blown a fuse.
Odyssey PC925 AGM battery with group buy fuse block on the mains. (That's a refurb emission canister on the left - all new charcoal and lines). To answer another question - SS fuel lines both in the tunnel and engine bay - of course! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
