When I was working on it trying to get it to pass emissions, I found that one of the spark plugs had some kind of insert bonded to it to the point where I could not remove it without destroying the threads of the insert. I looked all over and finally found a replacement insert at NAPA. I put it in, put in the spark plug and thought all was well.
What I did not find but DJ at Don Jackson Enterprises did was that the old insert had broken and part of it had moved down into the spark plug hole to the point that it stuck out of the hole enough to cover the end of the spark plug. It was covering the end of the spark plug enough that the spark was not able to ignite the fuel which was why it was failing emissions. DJ got it to pass emissions so I am going today to get it registered and a plate. I am thinking about getting "NARP" as the plate. My son likes it but my wife thinks it's dumb. What do you guys think? Should I go with NARP or something else. |
