Thanks to all who helped me learn about Porsche 914s. The car is sold, will be restored, and I am glad it went to a couple great guys who will hopefully have some fun with it. I won't be checking this post further, but wanted to say thanks!

My husband bought his brother's 1972 Porsche 914 hoping to restore it someday. He passed away before he could dive in to this project. The folks over at the Porsche 914 Facebook group have helped me with what pictures and info I might gather for a listing, but you will soon find out I do not know anything about cars. What I do know:

* Clean Minnesota Title
* It's been stored in our shed for the past 20 years
* My dad said the tires are good but they will not stay inflated
* There are pictures here and I can take more if requested. I couldn't get a location or a good pic of the "longs" though.
* There is quite a bit of rust as shown
* My husband said the engine had been restored at one time when his brother owned it. I don't know any more about this, though.
* The title gives the VIN number plus says 2D, which I think means 2 door.
* I have the keys but no other documentation for it.
* It would need to be hauled.
* A group member advised me to clean the dust, etc. Since I don't know the correct products to use or if I would do more damage, I opted not to do this.
* Based on my VIN number search, it's a 4 cyl. It's believed to be a 1.7L engine.

I got a range of prices over on the Facebook group, so I am starting with those. I can't do anything with this car except remember how my husband was looking forward to it as a retirement project... so I am willing to take other offers. I'm located in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge about this car, but I'm glad to try to find out what I can if you have questions.

Hello, Porsche World!

I am a widow selling my husband's project car which I offered at $1500 based on several pieces of advice on this and other forums. I was holding it for someone who made a "for sure, as soon as I can pick it up" offer. Long story short, that fell through and I'm a bit wiser since I turned down other offers while holding it for the original bidder.

I can't wait this time so I am offering it at $1000 OBO, cash. First reasonable offer takes it. It has a clear Minnesota title, no accidents. I do not know much about cars, especially this one, but I can try to get pictures or information for you. It did start when my husband got it from his brother's estate about 20 years ago (he also bought it for a project car), but it's been in our shed since. You will need to haul it. I live near Brainerd, MN.

I'm hoping my reply will "bump" the original post back to the current list. The pictures were taken last October, but it's been inside our cement floor shed and not touched or moved since then.

Thanks for checking it out.

Hi. My buddy, Paul and I are interested. We're in Minneapolis. He'll reach out via PM to arrange an opportunity to see it.

Best,

Bryan
