Vin verification has been done
Dealer can print a plate, but not a title. Title required to ship overseas. DMV closed for a while, unless it’s simple online transactions I suspect title work requires an appt now. You sure got into a messy thing with bad timing. I would suggest you get a refund. |

Thank you for the details, I did not see these progressions, just a lot of excuses. Dealer or AAA club ( may be closed for now) can submit docs online. Paper docs can be mailed in to be processed in Sacramento, takes 7 days. Did the smog last Sat, got my docs and sticker yesterday. Had appt at DMV on Mar 10 to transfer and register vessel, title and sticker arrives the following week. BTW, both of these transactions are personal so dealer should be same or quicker responses. |

Notwithstanding what the car is or is not, you can try calling the DMV direct in Sacramento (916) 657-8035 and speak to one of their techs. They are super helpful and knowledgeable. Hopefully you can get someone on the phone who can walk you through the process first hand.
I’ve had great experiences when calling HQ. Good luck to you for a successful outcome. |

Have you seen the rust buckets TDSkip buys? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) You wouldn't want him to do a PPI for you.
Get your money back and keep saving for the right car. BHCC has a bad name, I don't care what anybody says. |

Ok guys, no news yet, but looking forward already!
I got a tip from a fellow forum member about this car: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/barnfinds.com-12773-1584951022.1.jpg) Porsche 914 copper Before rushing in to another bad buy, what do you guys think?! When I was researching the color I found this link. Is somebody willing to inspect that car for me? If so please contact me! |

I like saving cars and don’t mind metal work, that doesn’t mean I don’t know that I am buying and why. I’ve put four back on the road (with lots of coaching from the community here).... |

That sure looks like Copper Metallic rather than a paint to sample color on it now. Think that was on barn finds, obviously you need to decide if you want a big bumper car. |

While it is more fun to look I’d suggest getting whatever you decide to do with BHCC sorted, it’s going to likely be a bit of a buyers market for classics over the next 6 months. Buy as close to the final car you want as your can. |

Thanks... so the links were right. I guess it's not that easy buying a clean teener. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) correct and due to more sellers jumping into the 914world of cars due to values going up we have even more that cant be trusted. you should not buy from anyone unknown to the community here or without having a full PPI or putting your eyes on it!! now, i have a 75 914 2.o appearance group car, code L99K which is the code for Copper metallic, only available by special order in 1975 only. this looks like copper metallic and it is a rare color. I know of one last year that went from Florida to your area in Europe, mine, Jim Hoyland's car in So Cal ( he is selling soon so contact him if you want a know car that's well taken care of) and there is one being sold by 914ltd in Peoria Illinois, it his own car and has backdated bumpers but otherwise is an unmolested copper metallic car owned by a professional Porsche 914 specialist/mechanic!! i Say buy that car and you will know exactly what you are getting, from Brad - Brad Mayeur -https://914ltd.com/ so there you go. Thanks... so the links were right. I guess it's not that easy buying a clean teener. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'd slightly disagree here, there are plenty of good cars available but takes more money than previously. Significantly more money than 3 years ago...and not everyone can swing that. I wish the prices didn't move so much so as many new owners could jump in as possible but prices have. So you either have to pay up or take a different approach. My approach - which isn't something I'd recommend frankly - has been acquire a small fleet of cars that have good bones but need things what would put other people off. I weld and have access to a fabrication shop. I have the space, Hagerty insurance makes it cheap to have them in run around town for cheap mode. I deliberately chose challenging cars since it forces me to really learn and develop new skills. I also deliberately chose cars that had different configurations and trajectories as to what they "wanted" to be so I'd learn as much as possible. My rule of thumb is to buy the best, but if not then buy what other people dismiss as the worst but actually have a good core when you look more closely. The recent racecar was just for fun and hard to lose money on (it was a nice bonus that it runs and drives now), but prior to that I paid $2,500 for an AZ car with outstanding longs and trunk that just needed some metal repair where the AC lines had been run. Never been hit, all the factory welds in place, but didn't run right and needed everything. Scruffy as heck but all of that gets replaced before you use the cars for touring events (as I do) anyway. The cars get banged up on that stuff so having a really nice one - which many people here do and have amazing work on - just isn’t my goal. |

I'd second 914LTD,
Brad has been a stand up guy and a Porsche tech for years. A straight shooter. His reputation proceeds him. |
