Does any one know how much privately donated money the US sends to Africa? I thought I heard that the US is way up there compared to other countries as far as citizens' contributions, not official government contributions.

Here we go..

Why would I hand out money, to despot criminal assholes, so they can pump up their volume?

I am sick of dickheads in the World, and damned tired of paying to build a better dickhead.

This thread is moving dangerously close to politics.

I don't want to lock the thread..... I like Pink Floyd! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

I normally don't delete threads. I just lock them so y'all know where they went, and I normally post a comment before locking them.

In Jesse Jackson voice:

there is no pain

you are receding

a distant ship's

smoke

on the horizon

You are

only coming

through in waves

your lips move

but I can't hear

what you're sayin'

When I

was a child

I had a fever

My hands

felt just like two

balloons

Now I

got that feeling

once again

I can't explain

you would

not understand

This is

not

how I am

I

have

become

comfortably numb

The best Pink Floyd albums in order:

The Wall
Dark Side
Final Cut
Animals
Shine on (or whatever it's called)
Meddle

I think the early stuff with Syd is hardly worth all the trubutes to Syd that they always mention when in concert. The best stuff is the conceptual stuff that Waters did when the band was in it's best form (I say that even though I disagree with much of Water's conclusions and viewpoints from the big concept albums).

I read somewhere that each "artist" performing at the Live 8 concert recieved a $12,000 care package. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

Gives new meaning to the phrase

"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict"

Serious PF fans will understand...

Dogs...

"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to...
So when they turn their backs on you,
You'll have the chance to put the knife in...

Deaf, dumb and blind. You just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no one has a real friend.
It seems toyou the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everything's done under the sun
And you belive at heart everyone's a Killer..."

Political? Sounds alot like reality to me!

Back on thread: Live8 performances available on AOL. I hate AOL, but at least they have a video ready to view.

One of the best rendisions of "Dogs" can be found on the Roger Waters live CD, "In the Flesh". I went to that concert, by the way.

Allen's Pyschedelic Breakfast. It always cracks me up to think of the conversation a couple of record executives might have had before releasing that track:

Say JD, what do think of this song, Allen's Pyschedelic Breakfast?
I don't know DJ, it's kind of hard to dance to. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

If anyone wants a copy of the performance and is going to the V8 meet at Hooters in Dublin, I may be able to help you.
