Hello everyone,

After being on the site for a month or so now, I figured I should introduce myself and my car. I am 17 and have always been a die-hard Porsche fan. Before the air-cooled 911's skyrocketed in price my father purchased an original owner 1983 911 SC. This being my first experience with air-cooled Porsche's, I was suddenly set on a not so cheap path of ownership. At this point I knew I would own an air-cooled Porsche but the 911's and 912's quickly rose far out of my budget. However, after visiting Patrick Motorsports, the 914 was introduced to me. I loved the shape and the unique design, and the air-cooled 2.0 seemed to be a very appealing option. Fast-forward 7 years and I was finally in a position to buy one. Living in Northern Ontario in a city of roughly 100,000, air-cooled Porsche's are virtually non-existent to the best of my knowledge there are no more than 8-10. Luckily, last year I stumbled upon a Kijiji ad offering a 1974 Marathon Blue 914 2.0. After viewing the car and going for a drive, I bought the car for a price that seemed almost too good to be true. The car has the desirable 2.0 with numbers matching (confirmed by COA that I purchased), the appearance group package, sway bars, mahle wheels, and about every option. The previous owner was also only the second owner and had the car for almost 30 years. It was driven only as a summer car and, frankly, quite rarely driven in general. The odometer shows 53'000 original miles, confirmed by binders and binders full of receipts. Hopefully you enjoy the pictures and the progress I've made with the car so far on my student budget. Attached you'll see me paining valences, new restoration design rockers, clutch change, rust repair on jack points (car is about as rust free as possible), reverted the back to the factory appearance, colour matched door which was poorly repainted, and the original trunk with original paint to show condition. (Various other small things)

Thanks for the support on my other posts, this group is a wealth of knowledge and has helped me greatly. I'm sure I'll be asking much more as I will never quite be "done" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

New carpet thanks to @Mikey914 . Excellent quality and the kit made installation a breeze. Interior looks great apart from the missing radio face plate - next project.
