In all this talk about car colors I stumbled upon this car for sale in the Netherlands
https://dyler.com/cars/14163/porsche-914-co...purple-for-sale Prior to me re-spraying one of mine this color, I was only able to find evidence of one 914 ever having been delivered in this color, and even that one was a factory re-spray before delivery if i recall. Quite a few aubergine, but no lilacs. It looks like this one may possibly be a factory lilac car. There are a couple things i question on it (painted targa bar and bumpers on a 73 2.0) but im not sure if this just might have been a difference with european delivery cars?? If this was a post delivery re-spray though it looks to be very thorough. Thoughts? Are we looking at possibly the rarest 73 2.0 car out there? Is anyone aware of any other factory lilac cars? |

There was one at the WCR in Monrovia. I'll look for a pic. Talked to the owner for quite a while; he knew he had an unusual car.

Ask for the colour code, code 98 (or L98) denotes it was a custom colour car.
Lilac is a dark/blue purple according to the 914world colour chart. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act=colors |

This is a Lilac 911; That color is stunning! It would look nice beside my Coppa Florio 911 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

This is a Lilac 911; Whats the paint code on that car? Im wondering if they had a different "lilac" in later years. All the Early 70s "lilac" code 341 cars I have seen look like this. https://www.rennbow.org/colorwiki/RoyalPurple(Lilac) |

Love it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif) The body color bumpers, sails and targa bar just make it that much better. If that's not a factory combo it should have been. |
