Depends on service history and if your are fixing it yourself.

Clutch job - 20 hours.. figure $3000+ for a shop
Belt service - $600 in parts.. or $2500 for a shop
AC working?
Stock boost (seems once they start modding, well, lifespans shrink)
Torn seats
Sunroof working (know fail point there too)
Dash likely cracked to pieces under the carpet cover.

Maybe an LS conversion candidate given the better brakes and trans vs a 8V NA version

For comparison, the pinnacle (1988 Turbo S, Silver rose color) got bid up to $43K on BAT recently

A 944 clutch is the most unhappy mechanical job I have ever done. 25 years later, I still have the psychological scars.

Im into driving .... Not the car being down for maintence all the time so (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) 951

951 is a great car, did all of the maintenance myself......except he torque tube rebuild and the clutch. Other than that just a big Audi / VW. head gaskets I changed a few times as I kept over boosting. Tride the copper "super" gasket, but in the end teh stock held up the best. Factory 7lbs boost, I could reliably run 20 on a daily basis. It's about 26-28 you have problems on a bone stock engine.
If you can turn a wrench it's a pretty good car. Had to run 13" tires in the back as you could break it loose easy if you didn't.
