Hello, can I hear from someone who has don the odometer fix? Did you deform the gear as instructed in the pelican parts instructions?

Some decent pressure on the gear with a pair of needle nose pliers worked well for me. Fit tightly back onto the shaft and I've had no problems.

From people who did this was there enough room to get pliers or vise grips on the part you crimp. Someone mentioned the part you crimp does not stick out far from the gear.

I found no room to get any room to get pliers in there.
I had another speedo and used the shaft from it to deform it. I was able to push out the original shaft with the other shaft to keep all the gears in place.

Took me 3 times before all of the digits aligned evenly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Use a drill.

Use the trip reset cable and run it backwards with a drill Bob.

Yeah, it's delicate and tricky working on those tomorrow I will try a drill on it to see if it works
