When we had our house built, we had 10' ceilings put in the garage. I found a local Fort Worth company, Gemini Lift, that was willing to build me a 2 post lift that would fit under a 10' ceiling. I love it. No more laying on my back in cat litter.
But it does have it's drawbacks. It is fine for a 914 or our BMW, but if I put my truck on there, I can't raise it high enough to stand up. So I just sit on an old office chair. Disclaimer... y'all know I am "vertically challenged". So putting a lift in a 10' tall garage won't work for most people. Clay |

Life with a lift, add heat in the winter, some decent lighting, enough room to get around,.... makes this backyard wrenching much easier. Enjoy and be safe wile under the lift

Thanks for everybody’s input!
I pulled the trigger on a used Atlas pro-v10, two post asymmetrical 10 ton lift. The lift is about 10 years old and fully operational but it does sweat a bit of hydraulic fluid at one of the cylinders. Surprisingly Atlas doesn’t service the older model anymore and google wasn’t really helpful finding a online parts dealer/store. Any good recommendations for hydraulic parts dealer? Thanks again! |

Its mostly o rings in the ram. open up and clean, shops put tranny fluid in(old or new). The o rings are findable. Matt |

I've used Fremont Industrial Supply and been happy with their seal kits. That said, I've only ever bought them for my Deere backhoe, but they have lasted well and I probably abuse that thing more than any lift ever.
Just checked and they show Atlas on their list of cylinder kits. If they don't have your model you can always call them and they might be able to help as well. Most cylinder seals are pretty similar, big thing is knowing the shaft and bore size. https://www.fremontindustrialsupply.com/hyd...nder-seal-kits/ |

About 7 years ago a local company went out of business and sold off about 40 Rotary lifts, U.S. made ones. I bought a 9000# asymmetric version, runs on single phase 220V. Easy to put in, I did it myself and consider it the best tool in my garage. Well worth the cost, about $2400 used. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I have the same lift bought used (4 years old at time of purchase)... got a great deal, the best $2000 I've spent. Check your local marketplace FB, CL, etc. They're out there. |
