I would get George to confirm whether AA still has colored hoses. There is another thread somewhere with people saying the recent hose kits they ordered didn't have colored hoses even though the catalog description still suggests they do.
Here's a pic of my hoses after painting with fabric paint described in the DJet hose link that Mark posted. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-20845-1610913688.jpg) |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-20845-1610913688.jpg) I ordered the AA hose kit and although the picture shows red colored hoses, they are blackish, and the smallest hose is green. My wife has tried dyeing and spray on fabric paint but nothing works. We just ordered the sponge on fabric paint from Amazon and will try next week. I did manage to buy some of the small diameter hose in red and have the manufacturer’s name, but no response from their customer service. 914Rubber needs to fill this gap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). @Mikey914 |

We just ordered the sponge on fabric paint from Amazon and will try next week. Just being able to get the small green hose would be great. You can see in my pic that the green is a little too bright. I'm going to order a jar of white paint the next time I place an Amazon order and see if that can be tamed a bit, but would love to get the original if possible. The down side to the opaque fabric paint method is that you lose the manufacturing printing. The OEM hose is just Continental German made hose that is available many places. I've gotten it through Bel-Metric and Pelican. Just can't find it in colors anymore. Also, here's a link to my build thread where there are more details on the paint method I used in case it helps anyone: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?s=&...t&p=2883669 |
