Love me some 912s. Any welding required? Or just some wrenching? Definitely some welding. I'm hoping not a LOT of welding. Painting. A lot of wrenching. I think I bought it because of the pretty engine. Prior owner started the resto then passed away. Current owner is a 914 guy, finished building the engine after FAT built the long block and then decided to punt on the project. New floors are tacked into place. The 5 green gauges also pulled me in. Seats are still in pristine condition. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Non numbers matching engine is a positive for me since I don't care and it cost me less. I thought about doing a six conversion but after adding up all the parts and work - oil tank, engine mounts, axles, wiring, adding weight and needing bigger brakes etc, etc, I reversed course and now planning all stock except for one of Ben's mufflers. |

Score! You are going to love having the 912. Familiar but distinct driving experience, and key boatload of options on where you go with it if you decide to deviate from stock.
Make sure to come join us over on the 912 forum, really great community there. Congratulations! |

Congratulations Mark, nice looking 912... was the motor already done?!?
A 912 R would be a fine direction to take, always liked the minimalist feel of the factory racers. Post a build thread! |
