I am looking at doing something similar, but hard piped with the factory sender and a capillary tube gauge.

I have read that hard pipe runs the risk of cracking over time?

Hi! That particular 914 now lives with new owner in Seattle but this is still appreciated for sure. The bracket is a good idea to keep it from making a mess. They are notorious for that. Are you using any rubber isolators to limit vibration?
