What do you gentlemen think about the options out there for exhaust manifolds?
Any opinion on European Racing Headers? http://www.gt-racing.com/porsche-914-europ...t-914-6-158-sa/ Any other suggestion? I will listen to your advice and opinions to make my mind. |

I have no experience with the others except for seeing them on other cars. I have Ben's full exhaust on my car and love it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

I think he has a 2.7 motor. If you want heat, I would run Ben's 1 5/8" heat exchangers. I ran MSDS 1 5/8's headers when I had a 2.7 with webers back in 1987. The car ran great. MSDS does not sell heat exchangers for a six. Also I don't think MSDS is stainless steel. The one's i purchased from him back in 1986 were nickel plates. He does ceramic coating now as an option.

Thank you for your responses gentlemen.
Engine size is a 2.7. There is quite a difference in prices when new between options. |

I have MSDS for my 6 build. I got the ceramic coating option and man they are bright. You don't want to look directly at them on a sunny day. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/live.staticflickr.com-19709-1624944835.1.jpg) You can't go wrong with Bens or MSDS, both good guys who make quality products. |

For a 2.7 you want 1.5 or 1.5 to 1.625 stepped. 1.625 is to large unless it's an RS spec.
I am seeing about 1k for mild steel and 1400 for stainless.. with the huge stainless shortage right now I am considering a run of mild steel headers |

@HIPPIEKILLER If you are looking at our brand, once you decide on the specific size that you need (we offer 3 different o/d's...no upcharge), check out our site for racer net pricing. Add the 1,650°f coating + drive 'em hard !
Thanks @Larmo for the pic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Those are the best suppliers in the space, IMO. Both have the bases covered for various engine sizes/outputs, while each offers a different approach to materials & the option of heat. We're lucky to have choices like these. |
