Since I don't want the retractible headlights I am using that space for the dual radiators...
The typical Boxster/996 radiators are mounted at an extreme angle at the corners and vent below the car. There is not much room in the 914 so this will have to work. I could use a Renegade type or custom sizes but my guidelines are to use as many existing parts for future availability or replacement and only design and fabricate mounts and ducting. This car already had the headlight bucket and bottom cut out. I will get the Boxster y-pipes and hoses next week to test fit them. Attached image(s) |

Felix, Now that is what I'm talking about! =-) Seriously, not having the front trunk sucks. Would you happen to know the diameter of the tubing once it splits to go up front? Parallel. Why didn't I think of that? My drawing were to plumb for 2 smaller radiators in series. But as one person said in another posting, the temp differential is what makes for greater cooling efficiency. Rads in series would not take advantage of this. Parallel will. I appreciate the risk you are taking both in time and $$$. It seems like you have many resources but I'd like to offer up anything I can for the cause seeing as I eventually will go this route too. PM me with your needs/thoughts and who knows??? =-)) |
