Wiring calls for a "run" wire. What can I tap into in the engine compartment?

Check how many amps you need. A couple places there

I just put a Pertronix 510 in my -6 conversion last week. I simply connected the normal switched 12v+ coil wire to the thin red wire on the CDI. The CDI did not run my 1973 911S tach, even tried all 3 different wiring configurations. I have a Tach Adapt on the way now.

I hope you're changing the coil! You need a very low resistant one.
