That's right Jon, WA speed control sucks.

When I was living in San Diego (south carlsbad) I would leave at 4am and make it to Issaquah, WA by 9:30pm that night, and did the speed limit when I hit the WA border. Lucky I never got caught those few times I did it.

Well, Britain. I guess we'll have to wait until the WCC '06 until we can continue our a/x competition. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Good to hear things are working out in your favor for your family. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/clap.gif)

Better get those california plates off your car ASAP. Keyed paint, cut tires; they still do that childish sh*t up there to California types?

Anyway, hope not. Good luck in OR.

Andy

It is hard to believe that people in Oregon would key a California plated car. In Sacramento every fourth car has Oregon plates. Of course they are probably living in California with a PO Box in Oregon so they can avoid the taxes here.

Congratulations. One of my colleagues just bought 40 acres in Oregon for 300K.

C'mon, admit it, you'll miss Milpenis (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) What was that bumper sticker you saw, "I love Milpitas, in my rearview mirror"

Congratulations, beautiful house, I'm sure you'll love it up there.

So if Oregon is the state where you can't pump your own gas is it Washington where they nail you for going 2 mph over the speed limit?

Only in Southern Washington to catch those Oregonians and make some money.

First trip once you relocate should be down to see Parts Obsolete and whats left of his part colection before its all gone.

Second trip is to the Ore Coast to drive the twistys!

Ya gotta drive up to Bremerton too to AX as we have long fast races up here.

Welcome Britain (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif) The house you're leaving prolly got you a better one up here. Our other school in Marin Co. has people driving 1 1/2 hrs. because they can't afford renting or buying. Hills-burrito is a nice city. You're also just minutes away from one of the best Concourse events that just happened a couple weeks ago . If you're into golf there's hundreds of courses and most are very inexpensive (except for the Reserve where Happy Gilmore play'd)!

As for the changing of license plates right away... fergitaboutid. The maliciousness toward Californians only goes on in redneck small towns (like it did to my family back in 66 when we moved to Bend) Now Bend is made up of most transplants!

Yer gonna like it here once you get used to no sun, rain, ice, snow, wind, too many trees, year round green grass and not having to pump yer own gas!............. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

One more adjustment......our AX courses are a lot shorter than what you have in the bay area. Have to go north to Bremerton with Geoff to get a long course. We are asphalt challenged in the Portland area but always looking for more.

Well, we'll get to know each other for sure.  Are you working with Ramp or with TD?

I did some R&D/reverse engineering up at the Aloha campus a few years ago (I think it was that one, are they pretty much right in the middle of a residential area??)

Hey Briton...Sherryl and I are driving up to Seattle Sept. 8th or 9th, maybe we could help with something.....

Britain, and family! Congrat's on the move and house purchase. I can't volunteer to help you move - MD is just a wee bit away from the left coast. Ditto on the U-haul comment, use someone else. I hope to fly out for WCC06, I still want to ride right seat with you on the AutoX track.

Have a safe move and enjoy the new home.

Congrats on your move to Oregon and your new house. I recently left Bend, OR because of all the Cali transplants (not really but there are a lot). Portland is a great city.

Good luck!

Lyressa, no worries.  My wife and I might plan a get together for all of our friends here in Sept.

Late September, I hope? I'll be in Texas from September 3rd through the 18th, and then working the last weekend of the month...boy, my job sucks...

BTW: SEEMORE BUTZ - that picture is bloody disturbing!!! I eyes bug out every time I go over it! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

I've been in Klamath Falls, Oregon for a year now. I grew up in South San Jose and then relocated to Paso Robles, Ca. finally coming here last year. Not many Teeners here in KF. or atleast haven't seen any. Houses are alot more affordable here than California. A medium priced home 3bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage is about 155k. not bad considering Ca. prices. I do mechanical design/drafting for Jeld-Wen Windows & Doors. I make good money and could not afford a house on the central coast. not much other major employer here in southern oregon. Congrats to you for the move and your future success!
