Yep. Nelson lost his passion and did the honorable thing by sending her home for me to sort and sell for him.
There will be many more pictures soon, but here she is, freshly delivered from NM. Starting price will be $65k. I'm happy and sad. I want it to go to a good home. It's the finest car I've ever built. 3.2L, Nikasil, JE 10.5:1, Twin plug, PMO throttle bodies, custom fuel injection and ignition, rotisserie body build, steel flares. It's literally the only actual 'zero rust, zero accident' car I've done in 30 years of doing this. As I always say: "Offered here first"..... because this is the first place it should be offered. My car was sold to Dick Barbour Performance. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Yes, THAT Dick Barbour. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Mr Barbour is a very nice guy to talk to, a consummate gentleman and humble considering his endurance racing history. I think he will be inducted into the Sebring hall of fame this year! Yeah. Slightly legendary.
He said he wants to “keep this one”, from what Joe O’Brien told me. When I talked to him, he was excited to have a 914 this nice and with this level of modification and restoration done to it. I’m so happy the car went to such a great home! His son Ales sent me this picture of Dick with the car. Says it all, really. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |
