Trying to get my 914 1911cc dual dells timed today. Been down for a while.
While setting ignition timing fuel started spraying from the bubbling guy circled here. This is the main air corrector right? It might be time for me to throw in the towel on setting dual carbs, I know it will never be perfect with hex linkage. But man, it’s frustrating. (Especially when it was functioning previously - albeit poorly) Unless we have a pro here in Maryland, that I can trade a case of beer to help set me straight, it might be time to look for a reputable aircooled shop to get this thing timed and running well so I can DRIVE it this fall. |

I am guessing that the stack has simply come a bit loose in its bore. The good news is that its easy to check.
If its tight in its bore, then probably the o-ring needs to be replaced or as Rich said the carb is getting too much fuel. I once had a float jam and had fuel start pouring over the top through my velocity stacks! |
