Where is the best place to get the 044 fuel pump. Prices are all over the place from $50 to $200. Are there counterfeit units out there?

Yes, counterfeits are everywhere. Watch the wording, they will say replacement for Bosch 044. I have an old NOS 012 if that will work?

I just bought one from Pegasus. It has been superseded with a new part number. Probably because of all the counterfeit 044 units. You can also find the below part number on Pelican and other sites.

It's supposed to have the same specs as the 044 that it replaces. JW at Otto's installed the 044 on my 3.2. I'm installing this new pump on my Fitech fuel injection on my v8 car. The current Fitech pump is leaking and loosing pressure. You could call up Pelican and ask them. They also sell this pump. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/0580...580-464-200-M14 |

As long as you buy from a reputable motorsports dealer, they most likely won't be selling the counterfeit pumps.

Bosch 044 feeds like 700 hp depending on whom you ask. No issue using one of course, but it might be overkill for most 911 builds.

Bosch has been combining OEM fuel pumps into similar spec replacements for a while. Basically a reduction of part numbers.
044 is usually for big turbo cars. I'll have to lookup the part# for mine but it's good for 300hp. 044, like the Walbro, has a counterfeit problem. |

It was used on my track 3.2 914 since it supports fittings on both sides for steel braided lines. I converted the car back to street, changed the fittings to barb fittings for rubber hose and kept the pump. Car runs awesome, but yes probably overkill. I will use the same pump when I replace the 3.2 with a 3.6.

[/quote] I am using my carbs as throttle bodies and the injectors will be inserted into the MFI ports on the heads of my 2.4. It is simple and has been proven over the years by Jamie as he actually use to sell the kit on pelican. total cost will be about $1500 and look pretty stock |
