What is done with bearing cover? Does 911 backing plate replace bearing cover or do we modify bearing backing plate and use both together?

thanks
Matt

One or the other. Not both.

I made up spacer plates that both cover the bearing and set the 911 backing plate to the correct depth for the brake shoes to sit centered in the drum (for the handbrake function). I believe the required spacing is something like 5mm from memory? Chris Foley or Eric S would probably know the correct offset,

There's two parts to the 911 e-brake setup. The backing plate itself and a bearing cap.
You'll need both items from an early 911. Plus you know you need to weld on a backing bracket for the e-brake shoes correct. Get Chris Foleys e-brake cable parts and good to go.

Sorry. I meant you use the 911 parts. Not the 911 and 914 together. My mistake for not being clear.
