I sense many of us on this board have both. Which one gets more seat time?

914 is track car, 930 is the GT car… wife prefers 930 comfort.

Rear engine cars are fundamentally flawed because the car's center of mass is typically behind the rear wheels.

Had a 911 for a bit, along with a 356….sold the 911 to help pay for 914 6 conversion.

993/911 was more comfortable and easier to get in and out of. Sold it and kept the 914. I did not like the lift throttle oversteer on the 993/911

997 is my latest preference….but that changes frequently.
I have spent less in my fleet of toys than my wife’s brand new car. Sooooo, I call them mood cars Depends upon my mood |

Had a 911SC. Bought a 914 on a whim and loved the way it handled. Sold the 911SC to get a 914-6. Yes the 911 was more comfortable but the driving experience was more engaging in the 914.

In order of seat time: 955, 968 Cab, 914 (that's changing now that it moves under its own power)

I had a 914, sold it because I had to have a 911. Then got a 912 outlaw, ended up selling both of those for another 914. Just sold that for a 914-6. I now have the best of both worlds - great handling and good looks with that sweet sound of a 6 cylinder.

I sense many of us on this board have both. Which one gets more seat time? Yup correct both... '09 911 Carrera S, '73 914, '74 914 They are all fair weather cars to enjoy yet each one is totally different and depends on my mood. The 911 is modern with all the creature comforts like A/C and is the Porsche flagship. The 73 2.0 FI is fun on cool dry days handles like a slot car. The 74 is bored out, camed and carbed. Hard to start, sputters, barks, backfires until warm and is loud. More of a street legal race car. The 911 gets 45%, the 73 gets 45%, the 74 gets 5% if lucky. |

I prefer the simplicity of the 914 for the most part, but the '75 911S and the '87 turbo cab both have their places.
914 - 70% 911 - 20% 930 - 10% life isn't too bad there is a reason why #40 finished in 6th place overall in 1970 |

I have a 911 motor in the 914. So (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crest.gif) 100% Porsche, all the time.
Daily life is 70% 987.2 Cayman R and 30% 914-6. Vacation / Road Trips are 40% Cayman and 60% Elvira. |

Don't currently own a 911, but have had a number of 911's over the years. Typically any 914 I would own at the same time would get more seat time. Bit more of a fun car to drive.

I sense many of us on this board have both. Which one gets more seat time? This is comparing apples and oranges! I love driving my teener for special events, but my Cayman does the extended trips. I consider the Cayman to be the evolutionary model of the 914 had they remained in production. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |
