2 914s at the pca concours today..a 75 and 76
the 76 was a one owner with 24,000 original miles..and totally perfect in every way..i couldnt believe it the 75 is owned by tod914 here, 60k miles and very nice and original as well.. then someone had an original six that was kinda butchered, 2.8 liter with rear flares, cage, racing buckets and a 4 point harness...for sale for 14k Attached thumbnail(s) |

Ya aint makin sense punk. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Those LeMans winners were "original". The sixer he saw was "original" at one time as well. With only 1700 some imported to the states and a rumoured 400 of those to be alive I can see his point, but... ...to each his own (ahhh now it looks like he's attempting to sell "his own" to someone else... probably wishes it didn't have those flares when original examples are bringing $20-25k) |

oh..i forgot to mention that today i had my first ride EVER in a 914...can you believe that, owned one going on 2 years and never rode in one..
tod gave me a ride, we took the top off and put the pedal down..man was that fun! these things are glued to the road, much better handling than my 924S...which i thought was good... i think that is what i needed to get my umph back into my project! |

Olav, 20-30k is going rate for a nice, original /6, surely.
A minty 24k/m /4, as the one pictured, is around.. $18-20k... on a good day. I paid for a car like that once... and I got something quite different. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) M |

Well if you narrow the field to super low mileage cars I guess there are only a handful of those around and I guess the price can be pretty darn high. I suspect a car in non concors condition but in great shape in general for a six would come in around 15 - 20K. |

If I had my way, that would be the kind of original six I'd like to get my hands on. Something somebody already screwed with enough to make me not want to take it back to stock, so I could screw with it to my taste without feeling guilty about it. And it's still an original six! I think one always will feel guilty. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) I have all my original parts so I can put it back (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

True, but the flares on that one would require replacement sheetmetal, and that's a lot of work to get right again.
