thats bad. just out enjoying your porsche harmlessly and some crazed kook in a pumped up truck kills you. lock him up and throw away the keys. too good for hanging. let him rot in a hole somewhere. (Sorry for harshness, but......). we got problems here with drugs (amph + meth) running rampart in the construction industry where workers are currently paid very high wages on mega transport infrastructure projects in this city down here. they all drive pumped trucks which they buy with their inflated wages and special tax write offs. you got to watch it on the roads during their commuter times. early morning and mid afternoon. lots of rage incidents (drug induced?). aggressive driving, extreme tailgating. etc. i have had a few up my cars arse and i just turn off to get rid of them before anything goes down. the drugs combined with the "arms race" on vehicle size is starting to turn nasty. throw roads choked with soccer mums in super big SUVs and its starting to be a lethal cocktail. since i drive mostly a hot hatch and occasionally my 914 its kind of getting to the point of being threatening if you get caught in the vicinity of one of their skirmishes. |

Too many angry people on the road. Innocent people suffer the consequences. So sad.

Folks seem to think that in their cars they are invincible, and that somehow there is an anonymity to driving. If this were a grocery store and carts. One guy might simply say I didn't see you, or at least excuse me, I didn't mean to cut you off, but somehow when you get into a car this changes.
After riding a motorcycle for awhile, you realize they just don;t see you most of the time. Drive accordingly. And when someone does cut you off, just count it toward your good karma, and let it pass. If that's the worst thing that happens to you that day, I's say your having a pretty good day. So sad to see innocent people were hurt. |

You never know every time you leave the house if you will make it back - cherish your loved ones. This was a selfish act on their parts, over something stupid.

I can find the names of the people who passed away from this tragic out off control group. I have not been able to find the names of the drivers who caused this.
Did any one here catch the names? Are the names being protected because they are a protected class? Matt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

Are the names being protected because they are a protected class? Matt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) thats because you have the same legal system we have (more or less sort of), inherited from the english. its highly evolved despite what we might think of it. and they are now subject to the presumption of innocence, even charged. as it should be. generally the names are suppressed. from here on its a matter for the courts. as it should be. objectivity in relation to evidence is how it works. the fact that you cannot find the names is a signal of the seriousness. i feel sad for the folks who lost their lives. very sad. minding their own business. its a serious matter. in the realm of manslaughter etc. ---- watch out in your 914 or your hot hatch. you don't want to be run into by an SUV or a US spec truck. they sell them here too. dodge rams etc. big vehicles. |

Are the names being protected because they are a protected class? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/post-2-1137106233.gif) Don't go there.... I don't want to be forced to close this thread. What TF is wrong with people? The names weren't being released because all of the family members hadn't been notified. Rodney was a friend to all here in Salt Lake City. He was one of James' best friends. The car was an 87 Carrera that he was excited to finally get from local PCA friends. He auto-crossed with Diane when she first joined the club. He was the first one to welcome her in. He helped our community by scanning 914-6/GT flares and rocker panels for us (close enough to home yet?). He helped because he was that kind of person. He didn't deserve this. Nobody does. Road Rage - We've all been guilty of some strong feelings behind the wheel. I doubt we've ever thought about the consequences of an innocent bystander. What Rodney has taught a lot of us is... "just back-off and back-out of it." |

When the person coming up on you wants to 100+ and you don’t get out of the way quick enough. Then someone is flying out of the median right beyond the next corner. Impressive combined closing speed.

I think IF there are charges and bail set I would think it would be part of the public record. The vigilantes will be like vultures.
