I see them now, how do I turn them on?

switch inside of the engine bay, rubbing two wires together, dancing on my head???

uh if I got your question right, the trunk light only turns on with the headlights, or running lights. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

LOL, it's a trick question...the engine light in particular seems to only work on "a few" of the 914's left in the world. But IIRC yes the circuit is wired to the headlight circuit; would have to reference a wiring diagram to confirm and you may want to grab one from the bird board or Haynes manual.
