I am currently starting a refurbishment of a combo fuel and temp gauge for my 914.

The cellophane for the low fuel light is faded and the red/orange needles are faded.

Where have you gotten the paint? Are you just using Testors model paint by hand or spray painting?

Also, where have you located the red/orange cellophane?

I have used the photographic gel filters. You can also go buy plastic report covers at an office store.

I just did my speedo, purchased some expensive gauge needle paint that came in a tiny glass vile. I followed the directions, I think now I would have gotten a better finished product just using testors. I would suggest calling North Hollywood speedo or one of the others and see if they will sell you some paint for your needles.

North Hollywood speedo is the best for restoration, if you don't want to do it yourself

depends on the $ that you have

There are other options too...
Check out the work John Bell does. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
... for example the very nice gauges he did for @mepstein . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)
