Why do some have front side markers, and also why do some have rear bumpers with a single exhaust cutout and others have dual outlets?

Interesting Is there a spec sheet of what options were available on the 916's?

Was the 916 US side marker installed at the dealer huge differance where these are placed on these two cars?

So some 916 were 6's and some 4's or all them 6's? I thought all were 6's?

I called on #18 back when it was advertised for sale, around 2006 I think. The asking price was $300,000! The motor had just been opened and refreshed according to the seller's rep, but everything else was as original. I have quite a few pictures of this 916 from the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca from the '90's and the metallic blue paint with the cork interior is just stunning in person. Last I heard this 916 was sold and went back to Austria.

No Spec Sheet as there were only a few cars

916's were Euro Cars, but the Silver One was brought over to Brumos by Peter Gregg. so the Side Marker was added. This car is the only one with A/C, but they had to cut a hole in the bulkhead to fit the Compressor. The Interior has also been changed out.

Attached Image

All 916's were 6s, but they have different displacements - 2.2, 2.4 & 2.7. The 916s were built on 914-4 Chassis

There were also two 914-8s Built - one for Ferdinand Porsche & one for Piech

The 916s were built on 914-4 Chassis so the VIN is not like the 914-6 VINs

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
All models (914-4, 914-6, 916) are based on the same chassis construction so
the VIN indicates only the series and the factory modifications.

My 72 -6 is a -4? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I would say that only the steering column is different but all other is
a -6 and the VIN is -6 too.

916 models are also -6 with an independent number row because it is not
a 914-6.
916 have only the look like a 914
