My race didn't last long. On the first lap I got tagged from behind. This pic shows me placing a screw eye so I can pull the corner out enough so the tire won't rub and I can drive onto my trailer.
You can just see someone in a driver's suit there talking to me. That's the guy who hit me. He came over as soon as the race was over to apologize. Attached image(s) |

Nobody took pictures Saturday night during the party/celebration. Also during Sunday breakfast no pictures. This is from Sunday lunch. Craig roasted a nice big piece of beef and Cathy prepared steak and cheese sandwiches.

The tents were taken down just as it began to rain lightly.
Thanks Ed and Cathy for staying to the end, removing iron stakes from the ground. That was the hardest part of the entire tent project. Attached image(s) |

Chris,
Thanks for the photos. It's great seeing the cars and drivers. Sorry about your weekend. You guys did an amazing job repairing the qulifying damage. I can't wait until Speed TV broadcasts the taped races. |

For a couple of previous podium finishers, these guys have obviously never sprayed champagne before. Rookies.
You have to put your thumb over the end to get good pressure and last for a long time. Erik Attached image(s) |

Chris, I know you mentioned the hit from behind as a "racing incident"--would you care to elaborate? Did someone simply misjudge a braking point, or did you have to check-up for on-track action, or .... ?
"No, just racing action" (AKA "shut up Dave") is also a perfectly acceptable answer. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) --DD |

Was it a bump draft incident? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) I watched some of the NASCAR race from Talledega last Sunday. Bump drafting and reinforced bump-draft-bumpers were the big topics. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) |

Going into the second turn after the start of the race I could tell things were bottling up in front of me and I held back just a little. At least one driver behind me wasn't aware of the situation and came in a little too hot. His front bumper was just a little lower than the 914 trunk floor. The contact wasn't enough to loosen me up and I thought it wasn't that big a deal until I smelled the rubber and could see a cloud of smoke coming from the right rear tire. Judging by the damage he hit me harder than I thought or felt at the time. |
