This is my rough idea...ideas accepted and appreciated:

Meet at a location with a large staging area (I'm thinking Nashville Alps) that won't be busy around Noonish on Sat. Oct 18.
Leave for a 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive in scenic Brown, Morgan and/or Monroe Counties.
Parade through downtown Nashville and finish in Brown County State Park.
Have a little show and picinic in the park. Hopefully, we can get an area where we can park the cars together in the grass, not in parking lots.

Then maybe have drinks somewhere in town and those that come from farther away and those that have had a few spend the night at the Brown County Inn (?). Breakfast in the morning and depart.

Sound good?
That's a pretty time of year there.

Nashville, IN is located about 45 minutes south of Indianapolis on IN-135.

here's a map.

Here's a couple of links to info on Brown County State Park and the area:
Brown County
Department of Natural Resources-Brown County State Park

There is a live webcam somewhere on the second link's pages.

Sounds like a plan, how far from Maumee. The wife and I are going to Hot Springs the first of Oct. then to Branson. But will be home by then,(broke).
Also let Cody,s mom know she ask me to inform her of any other 914 events he could come to. Let me know when plans are firmed up. Dave Kimple Barberdave

Is this the same Rob that drove the Blue 914 to the 914 Picnic in Norhtern KY a year or two back?

Barber Dave,

It took me 3 1/2 hours to get to Maumee Sunday morning. Add another 45 minutes and you are in Nashville, IN.

I'd sure as hell try to be there as long as you guys didn't laugh me out of the park for not having a teener to drive by then. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

HAHAHA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
I just had a vision of the Porsche parade with my little Saturn in the middle.

Rob, Nope, wasn't at Maumee. Losts of personal stuff going on and I couldn't leave town. Is that the same car? The blue looks different to me.

Glad you found the 914world.com site.

Pnambic, you won't be the only person there *wihtout* a 914. If I can make it, I'll probably be a F150 Supercrew. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Of course I'll be there/here. I live in Nashville - about 1/4 mile north of town.

Nashville Alps - Its been a while since you've been here. The Alps changed to Ski World and that has changed to Tubes Are Us. Not quite enough snow to make money on a ski resort here. Still could be a good meeting place.

I know the Property Manager of the park. Should be able to get a great location to gather the cars.

Regarding staying the night - It is a busy time of year for Nashville - rooms may be difficult to get. Check early if you plan to spend the night. There are several hotels and B&B's.

I will offer as much hospitality as possible. I may be able to put up 1-2 folks (will need to check with wife). Accomodations may be a little sparse ( I'm in the middle of a major house addition - keeps getting in the way of my 914 project).

I've got enough 914's and parts to host a small swap meet. (4) cars in the drive/garages right now, plus parts from 2-3 more. I'm only trying to build 1 - I know you guys understand this addiction.

I've also got a big garage full of some pretty cool chevrolets that I love to show.

Y'all come on down and we'll have a great time talkin cars, touring some beautiful scenery and havin a few drinks.

Sean-I'll contact you to see what else we can do to make this happen.

i've been through Brown County and it is beautiful, especially in Autumn.
it is, however, the weekend before the Watkins Glen TracQuest event we're talking about going to and i think only one will happen. i bet we could have a lot of fun in IN for what a TracQuest weekend will set us back tho :-) ...

i'll put it on the calendar - if we're not going to WGI it could definitely happen ... (even though there is a RTR Autocross that weekend too...)

Doug,

We need a good (uncongested) loop about 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
Any ideas?

I may cruise down sometime during the week in the next couple weeks and do some research.

Uncongested is a challange due to the time of year - but I know the back roads around here pretty well. I can find a fun loop.

Let me know what timing works for you. We can hook up and do some planning.

I need to get to work on the one that runs so that I have a 914 to drive. Laughing allowed - I bought it that way, it was my first. I sure have learned alot since buying it.

Looks like I found me a local 914 parts source! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
