Yikes! Stripes!....I like it. I put some stripes on mine...mostly to cover up a bad paint match line on the hood...but learned to like it:

thank you sir! there was also one where the stripes were wider and filled out the whole space between the headlights ... in any case, i believe that was available as an factory option. i remember that posche had a 914 at a car show (IAA?) with those stripes ... my opinion - don't do this I think it would look "too fat" (hard to express in a foreign language (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) ) I'm not a graphic works guru, but it could give you an idea what I'm thinking about ... Attached image(s) |

Those hood decal numbers looks like the font that was used in the '70 movie "Rollerball" with James Caan.
Very cool at the time. |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) 2x Very nice touch with the stripes, but leave that middle part orange I also like goose2's offset rallye stripe. If I ever get my paint redone, I think that is the direction I would go (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

I went to a local sign shop here. Got a roll of 16 inch black vynil and a little instruction on what to do. Got home and turned up the heat in the garage to 75 let the car body get warm and just went for it. It took a little over an hour to do. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Looks great, Garold! Ought to chop at least a second off your AX times.
BTW, your t-shirt went out in the mail today and if your mom's up to it I'd like to get a service cover. After the hospital stay I figured - what the Hell am I saving for - and ordered one of Jake's engine kits. My kid's getting too good with his Miata and ole Dad's going to need a little extra hp to keep ahead of him. |
