I am going to do a compression test this am, I have read most of the post in the archives, some say do the test with the throttle open, does this just mean to depress the accelerator when doing the test?
thx
steve

If you have carbs, make sure you block it open at the beginning and leave it there until you're done. If you keep going back and forth between open and closed the accelerator pumps will dump a bunch of fuel in there that you don't need.
