I vote new tub as well.

Then after the transfer, you'd only be a new paintjob away from bliss.

...

And maybe a few DE sessions...

But IF and i stress the IF (because IF you think about the time to transfer it all with 6 people crawling on both cars) you decide to partsbin the thing... that 2.0 looks tasty...

I know the feeling and have all the empathy in the world fer ya. Ain't nut'n like being stupid & paying fer it, especially in front of others. Oh... the embarassment (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) It took me 2 weeks to tell friends of my mistake.

But, since you have so many offer'n the help to rebuild It's prolly the best way to "save face" & JUST DO IT

Daniel,

Most important is that you are ok and no one was injured. Glad to hear it.

As for the car, a tub transfer wouldn't be too bad. I would give Clayton an excuse to bust out his new tools. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif)

Take a look in these forums about 2 years ago for a thread about the sawp that was done in No-Cal for Jenny (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif) (those eyes!!)

So it can be done. She might not be too purty, be she'll run again.

Rest up and think on it again tomorrow.

rebuilding will give you a new respect [ not in any way ment as a slam ] for your car. part of growing up, i'm still doin' it and i was born when kennedy was pres. [ btw i once spun a car on the freeway, no curves just striaght, and ended backed into the gaurd rail. ]

Tough break. Sounds like you can choose to part it out, walk away and carry the regret and memory with you, or you can turn it into a great experience, make some new friends, rebuild your 914 and treat it with more respect.

And yes, lose the turtle! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif)

Good luck.

Daniel, really, seriously dude, if other members are OFFERING to help rebuild her- repair or new tub- please, please think about it. I know of no other people that generous and with their expertise anywhere!!!! You will learn more about your 914, another excuse for a get together and PHOTOS!!! and it will be back together before the summer and A/Xing!!! Probably, with the donated parts, it may be a better, faster machine anyway!!! Dude, people are offering to help you!!! I know its embarrassing. And, I can see a new T-shirt in here somewhere-- "I participated in the dLo rebuild" or something. Another contest for captions and a photo of your car. At least it wasn't as bad as the Enzo and you are ok. Don't feel tooooo bad, everybody eventually does something that in retrospect, wasn't too smart. I myself, a couple of weeks ago, was messing with my sunglasses and drifted off the road a little and went off the road and I hit a hole and BAM, I bent the aluminum wheel and the tire went flat. That couple of seconds ended up costing me around $350. Not including a new alignment. Sometimes I really piss myself off. And, please don't just part it out, keep 914's on the road!!!
