Yes to the above.
Unless PP is feeling *generous*.. you wont get your money back. I personally wouldnt give you your money back either (I can be a dick sometimes) The Terry didnt break from being defective... it broke because you have multiple issues with the tube that it slides into and linkage issues. I have pulled out gobs of rust in the past causing premature cable failures. You have told us several things: funky BS linkage/bellcrank/other failures... I have been using Terry's for over 14years now (clutch and throttle) I have never had one break that wasnt caused by something else going on in the chassis. Work out your linkage issues before you bust the vendors ass. Right now it sounds like you have a cluster f_ck for linkage. B |

YEP (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) The cable pulled clean out of the end from me pressing on the pedal by my hand, maybe 6 times as I was testing the weber action... DEFECTIVE. It happens all the time. Some parts just slip through the quality process. Not saying Terry Cable is junk just that I got a DEFECTIVE cable. If I worded things as if I was...sorry, Terry cables are not junk to all that care. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) Sounds like if the cable pulled clean out of the end, it might have just been a bad cable. Especially if your last one lasted almost a year. Either way, I think Kerry has some good advise on how to remedy any further potentail problems.
I do agree with Brad on checking the tube. I have cleaned out my fair share of crud from cable tubes over the years. It's worth looking into. |

Use a mirror to verify that the throttle cable and clutch cable are not interwined near the pedal. They wrap around each other very easily and unless you can see them in the tunnel with a small mirror and correct it, its very likely they are intertwined.

WOW (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)
Was it a terry cable? and I thought is was just my cobbled together POS (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Call terry cable. I have called them and have yet to hear back. Best of luck PParts is sending me the return shipping label (in the mail today). Give them a call if you got it from them..There must have been a issue during production of the cables. Cheers |

I just got my new Weltmeister cable. I can say it is 100% NOT the same as the Terry Cable.
The cables may have been made years apart so the materials/methods may have changed??? But the two cables I have are not the same |

I got mine a couple of months ago and it was a "Terrycable package" inside a Weltmeister labled package. When I called and asked about it, the salesman said they were the same.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) That sucks
How does the real SIX's connect to the fire wall? Is there a bent piece to connect to? I am sending my cable BACK to Terry Cable and they will look at it and replace it with a new one. I wonder if they can make it with a few more strands??? Group buy anyone (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) My 1st cable broke AT the firewall exit point (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) As you can see from the above photo, it was due to the routing. I have my new cable installed with a large arc in the routing to reduce the kink. Not sure how I will secure it yet. I don't see how the OEM or RJ bellcrank can help with the break at the firewall? Anyone have a photo of a real SIX firewall (down low)? |
